Our partnership with the Domestic Abuse Legal Advocacy Center, PSC has proven to be invaluable for both our residents and staff and has raised the bar for the level of services that Home Free provides.

The legal system can be daunting—and at times overwhelming. Access to an attorney who understands the dynamics of domestic abuse and is trained in trauma-informed care, one who walks beside a victim and guides them through the court process, gives women the courage to secure the safety and justice they may be too frightened or intimidated to pursue on their own. We watch women leave each clinic, having been treated respectfully and taken seriously, with the confidence of knowing that their voices have been heard.

The trainings provided for our advocates are strategic and current, and the technical support provided is second to none. Access to the knowledge base that DALAC provides in multiple areas of the law enables us to ensure that victims have multiple options, and that they understand how those options impact their lives, allowing them to make the best choices for themselves and their families.
